Cal Poly Humboldt is prepared to review requests by visitors and make certain accommodations for a variety of reasons.  Visitors needing specific accommodations such as a designated accessible parking space and/or seating for Humboldt sponsored events, on-campus transportation, or accommodations that are necessary for participation in an interview for potential employment, should visit Requesting Accommodations as a Visitor to Campus for specific contact information.

Visitor requests for accommodations are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and some accommodation requests may take more time than others to be fulfilled.  It is, therefore, recommended visitors contact the appropriate individuals on campus as soon as possible if they know they will need accommodations during their visit.  See Requesting Accommodations as a Visitor to Campus for specific contact information.

While visitors are not required to notify Humboldt in advance of their need to bring a service dog to campus, it is recommended.  Humboldt welcomes visitors with service dogs to campus if the dog has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability.  Visitors are encouraged to have their service animal wear a badge and/or vest that identifies them as a service dog while visiting campus. Handlers may be asked to remove their dog if the dog exhibits vicious behavior, causes excessive disruptions, is not housebroken, is not sufficiently cleaned, or groomed, and is not being properly restrained by the handler.  Requests to bring animals other than service dogs to campus will be considered on a case-by-case basis.  See the Animals on Campus Policy for more information.

Visitors are welcome to drop in to the office if they have general questions.  If a visitor has specific disability/accommodation questions and/or would like to meet with the ADA/504 Coordinator, appointments are required to be able to provide visitors with adequate time and privacy to discuss confidential health or other needs.  Appointments may be scheduled by emailing the ADA/504 Coordinator.

Visitors that are attending a scheduled event should first contact the event host to discuss access or accommodation arrangements for the event.  Cal Poly Humboldt events, whenever practically feasible, strive to be accessible so that visitors do not need to make specific requests.
