Mary Smith and Kevin O'Brien presenting Ramona with the SDRC Recognition AwardSDRC recognizes Ramona Bell for outstanding service to students with disabilities and for her work in promoting inclusion and access at Humboldt.

Ramona works to make sure all her students have access to resources and feel welcome and included in the classroom and other settings. She is flexible and understanding about the barriers and challenges faced by students and cheerfully makes time to work individually with students.

The student who nominated Ramona for this award writes: “I understand the difficulty working with students that have disabilities; Ramona never made me feel like a was a difficulty or a burden to her teaching...She creates a lens of intersectional analysis in the classroom and creates an inclusive space for all people. She has been by far, one of my favorite people to listen to, learn from, and engage with.”

SDRC is grateful for the tireless and creative work of faculty members like Ramona in making Humboldt an inclusive and welcoming community. Thank you, Ramona!
